It was a tiring flight because i think i took care most of the passenger in the cabin instead of both my superior and steward. Okay, at least my steward helped me out at times. I think my forehead was written of, ‘I can help you’ words because it seems like most of them came to me for…anything. Nah, i was just talking big here lar. Just every time i passed by them i would hear “Excuse me..” Well, i’m glad that i could help them up you know. The feeling of helping them, and seeing a smile on their face with a word of ‘Thank You’, makes me feel good!
KUL/SYD
We are expecting many children on this flight since it’s school holiday now. So i have tonnes of them in my zone and plus, 4 infants. On ground these 2 family with infants came to ask me for seats with bassinet point ( a point to attach the small baby cod/bed to sleep) In economy class we have 6 bassinet points so there will be 2 points in each zone as economy class is divided into 3 cabins.
SO with 4 infants in my zone with only 2 bassinet points. God please help me. So i told them i would try my best to allocate them to seats with the points if the passengers sitting in front wouldn’t mind to change with them. SO on ground i was running up and down already. In between there were passengers stopped me and asked me and that but i managed to sort them out though.
Suddenly i saw this family of four sitting right in front of the bassinet point and just so happened the child i not an infant(i assumed because the kid is quite big) at all! At that time i felt a relived and quickly went to them.
ME :” Sir, do you need to use the bassinet for your kid later on?“
HIM:” Oh no.“
ME :” OH, then would you mind to do this family a favor because they are with an infant and didn’t get a seat with bassinet point it would be nice if you could change seat with them so they can put the baby into the cod sleeping instead of carrying them for like 7 hours?“
HIM:” No no no…we need this seat because we have requested for it.“
HER:” And yea, i need to breast feed my child you see, and you know…”
ME :”Well, i think they need the seat more than you… you know? Because try to think if you have to carry a child like that in your arm for 7 hours!“
HIM:” NO, really we specially requested for this seat, don’t tell me i have to give it up you know. i have reason for requesting this seat.“
ME :” So i see..fine, it’s okay. THANK YOU so much!“
I felt so embarrassed because the family are Malaysians. So where is the helpful values goes? Why do they have to be selfish and inconsiderate? Have they ever thought of, if they are the family whom ask for a favor?! Don’t they have a heart? Just because they needed to feel comfortable for themselves? thinking of their inconvenient only. God, please forgive them because they were so blinded by the words of Satan that makes them acted so evil. I got quite upset of how they responded toward my request, in fact not mine. I’m just doing it on behalf of the other family. By right i shouldn’t be angry at all because to be angry over this kind person’s behavior? WHY?? In the end it’s God to judge them, not me!
so same goes to the other 2 ladies, asked for their favor but they declined because the mother is kinda old so i could see the reason. I felt so terrible because i couldn’t get to allocate the family to seats with bassinet points. I could see their disappointment face though but they gave me another happy smile because they knew i have tried. From that second, I felt good because i know deep down, i have tried to help them and they appreciated it. Mannn i’m getting to love this job!
So all the way to Sydney it’s about baby sitting.Yea, maybe i should start considering having this baby sitting part time job on my off days right? Hahaha Please, give me a break of it!
During My Stay
Alright, i was supposed to finish the One Tree Hill season 2 and continue the season 3 but i couldn’t because i forgot to get back my multi adapter as it is still with Lily. and tell me about it…how many adapter should a hotel own??? I asked from the hotel and so happened none of the adapter left. I wonder how many they have!
So i watched it until my battery has ran out. So i thought maybe i could do some reading instead but i dozed off through the night. Yes, you are so right. I woke up the next morning. whahahaa and you will be shocked to know from what time i slept. I slept at 6pm( 4pm Malaysian time) until 93oam (830am Malaysian time). Congrats me …for almost becoming a pig.
SYD/KUL
So it was a fresh start for work since i had so much sleep last night! Geee, on the way to the airport we missed out one crew. Ooppss, forgot to do headcount before we headed off. Lucky the hotel is just 10 minutes aay from the airport and good that the hotel provides shuttle to airport! Lucky him.
On the way back to KL maybe not so many children but we had numbers of ‘big’ children though! My zone was really happening today compare to the rest.
My 8 hours flight
- German Family- Both Grandparents , Mother with baby and one spidy boy (he was wearing a spider man costume) name Sunny. I always specially look after the mother with baby and children because i think they need more help and attention on board. Spidy ran around the cabin , maybe he thought he could save some one’s life on board! Family members were great, the grand parents are very helpful to the mother. At times i met some mother(s) traveling alone with baby, they had to handle the stuffs alone and i’s not easy you know. You scared the cry of baby would annoy the rest and maybe you would love to have a hand to help out. Guys, being a mother is not easy k! So, suddenly the mother felt very sick and need to lie down on one row of seats. So i ha to change the 2 passengers seated behind them, and thank Go they were kind enough to move to the end of the seats and let the mother to rest and breast feed the baby at the same time. It was a rough flight for the family i would say. Pity them, they would gonna have another long flight to Frankfurt after arriving into KUL. I prayed that the set of crew could help them on board as much as possible. well, sat bye bye to spidy.
- Four Had-Too-Much-To-Drink Passengers- Four of them have been asking a lot of drinks from us. These 2 ladies seated quite near to the galley(kitchen in norm term) kept on asking for beers. They talked and laughed so loud but i think half way they lowered down because they were civilize enough though. But one of them had it too much and knocked off. I was so worried she might need a wheel chair on ground. The ‘malu-est’ thing was, i asked the other lady if her MOM okay? And she told me, yea my FRIEND is fine. I was like…*shhhhht* Because the ‘mom’ wore very big T-shirt and the other one wore so girlie, can’t blame m u know. The Sad Man- This man had lots of wines and when he came to the galley to ask for a beer i asked if he’s okay or not? Maybe he should stop for a while. And he said” You know, I’m a sad man. I’m leaving my home for 3 months for work and i miss my babies. They are important to me and so what if i’m rich? I don’t care if they come and steal and rob me just for my money! But my babies…” He did not finish and just walked of with a sentence “you know, i’ve got a friend to chat with…” Okay, fine you can tell me your problem but don’t have to tell the world you are rich! SO now i understand why rich people is always grumpy because they don’t know what is happiness anymore. How sad. The ‘Drunked’ One- Okay, out of 4 this is really a trouble maker of all! He had so much Whiskey that we had to dilute the drink so he could maybe slow down a bit. He started to be friendly with the German Grandpa and they chatted well at first. Soon the Grandpa realize he had too much to drink. So this old man started to talk very loud in the cabin until the other 2 girls sat beside him requested to change seat. So we gave him warning, no more drink and maybe take a sleep or what. No he declined. We gave once more, final warning so he was scared. He did quiet down for a while but i think he was still high on cloud 9 so he waled to back and start looking for ‘victim’ to chat with. I noticed his movement around the cabin so i thought this can’t go far and must stop right away. I asked one of our macho steward to take him back to his seat and make sure he will not walk around anymore. Because this could be harassment to other passengers and anything could happen with an intoxicated passenger on board. Thank God, he listen at the last warning if not he would be in big trouble which i do not want to elaborate lar.
- In-flight Entertainment System Family- A family with a mother with a child and the grandparents. The young girl’s name is Elizabeth and is 5 -year-old. A very obedient and smart girl i would say. First the family kept on asking me to guide them to the movies section and i was so rushed to go out with the meal service. So i helped them anyway. And along the way, Elizabeth decided to watch some kids’ movies as earlier on she watched The Simpsons. Then i taught the mother to click here and there. Another time waling pass them, Elizabeth decided to play games since she got bored with the movies/ tv. So i helped her to select the games she wanted and i guess she was going to play the Disney Classics Games and i was right! hahahahah None of the children wouldn’t know about Disney! Anyway, she is nice to talk with and the family were nice as well.
- The Bleeding Ones- I was shocked when one of my colleague came and tell me that one my my passenger, a little girl’s nose was bleeding. *waahh* i quickly ran to them and give some hands. Lucky my colleague saw it happened if not… So luckily the bleeding has stopped after we gave them the cold compress on the nose bridge. After that i reassured the mother if she’s okay, Thank God she was okay and was sleeping already after the bleeding. Suddenly, my colleague (same one) came to me and said, “hey another passenger is having nose bleeding! Faster get me some tissues !” *Wow* another one. So i ran up and down to get tissues and towels. So this time as an adult though. He had quite a lot to bleed compare to the child. Well again, we did the same thing and i reassured him because he is seated in my zone. So ‘Thank You’ was the word to make me feel a lot better again.
You know my happiest moment of the flight would be, farewelling the passengers when all of them thank us for the service with great smiles .Maybe some of the are saying for the sake of saying it but that makes me feel good. Mann, i’m so a crew.
Well, I said the word makes me feel a lot better because i was feeling very grumpy at the beginning of the flight. I felt grumpy at first when some of them asked me for this and that. But after all the incidents had happened i felt a lot better. In the sense of worthy. The feeling of of helping people is just so indescribable. Maybe some thought all these would be better if it’s recognize by the supervisors. Yea…it would be good, why not? at least your heart work ( instead of ‘hard’) is appreciated. I don’t think so, because what we do is not to please man or either to let man applause! The good things we done is to please God because in the end its God to reward us with many blessings in return, don’t you think so?
Because if you would have to do one thing to show to people, it’s not sincere already. So, let’s all do things from our hearts and for the rest without gaining any rewards or recognition in return. Agree??
Night people. *issshhhh* having sore throat again.
